Claudious Albert Stallings, Jr.

    Smithfield—Claudious Albert “Bud” Stallings, Jr., 78, formerly of South Third St. passed away on April 1, 2020. Born on November 5, 1941 in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Claudious Albert Stallings, Sr. and Miriam Creech Stallings. Mr. Stallings was a proud veteran of the National Guard. He has recently been living in Mount Olive along with his son Jay. He was a gifted piano player playing for several churches in the Smithfield and Johnston County area, with the most recent being First FWB Church of Smithfield where he was a member.

    A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday at Riverside Cemetery in Smithfield with his pastor Rev. Vicki Medlin, his brother, Rev. Barry Stallings and his son Rev. Barry Stallings officiating.

    The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

    Surviving are: sons, Jay Stallings of Mount Olive; Rev. Franklin G. “Barry” Stallings and wife Olivia of Fremont; brother, Barry Stallings and wife Pam of Wilmington; his brother in law Virgil Early and wife Sylvia of Clayton; grandchildren, Karen Stallings Terrell and husband Austin of Goldsboro, Katie Stallings of Fremont.

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Stallings was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Ann Stallings Early, and the mother of his children, Sankie Glenn Stallings.
