Surrounded by her loving family, Connie Gail Hollowell of Goldsboro passed away on February 5, 2020, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Connie was born on September 6, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Johnny Raymond Hollowell and Eula Mitchell Hollowell. She grew up on the family farm in Johnston County, NC. She worked for many years in the food service industry where she held several different positions, including managing her own restaurant. Most recently, she assisted in the management of an apartment complex. Connie was proud to be an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. We all will miss her great country dinners.
She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Lynn Rodriguez (David); grandchildren Kenna Ahern (Adam), Matthew Grice, and Isabella, Carmen, and Aaron Rodriguez; and great grandchildren Hunter and Brantley Ahern, and Winter Grice. She is also survived by her sister Betsy A. Cropsey, sister-in-law Vicki Shore, and half-brother Johnny Thomas Hollowell, and her nephew Jeffrey Cropsey.
In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by her beloved brother, Earl Dean Hollowell, and his precious son, Raymond Earl Hollowell, as well as Betsy’s beloved husband, Jeffrey, and their infant son, Jonathan Earl Cropsey.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Hollowell Family Cemetery located on Pikeville Princeton Rd., Princeton, NC with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating.
