Smithfield – Connie Jean Phillips, age 65, died Wednesday, September 16, 2020 in UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Born May 27, 1955 in Johnston County she was a daughter of Melba Jean Ferrell Phillips of Kenly and the late Lloyd Guy Phillips. She was preceded in death by her son, Chad Lee Underhill; brother, Floyd Guy Phillips; and niece, Michelle Renee Phillips. Connie was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Selma.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020 in Kenly Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her daughter, Angela Jean Gregory of Smithfield; brother, Russell Thomas Phillips and wife Sandra; sister, Pamela Phillips Sawyer and husband Sandy, all of Clayton; nieces, Amanda Sawyer Harrington and husband Marc and Crystal Phillips Allen and husband Dennis; nephews, Daniel Lloyd Sawyer and Russell Lloyd Phillips; great nieces, Mclain Harrington,Macy Harrington and Lily Allen; and great nephews, Jadon Brown and Dalton Allen.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Parrish Funeral Home, P.O. Box 597, Selma, NC 27576, to assist with funeral expenses.
