Smithfield – Daisy Leigh Lassiter Parrish, age 94, died Thursday evening, February 28, 2019 in Smithfield Manor Nursing Home. Born March 21, 1924 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Elmon and Hollie Causey Lassiter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Parrish; and sisters, Jane Lineberry, Hazel Worsley, and Elmorene Lineberry. Daisy was a member of Sharon Baptist of Smithfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2019 in Sharon Baptist Church with Dr. Sherrill Stevens and Rev. Ben Wines officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Sunday just prior to the service.
Surviving are her sons, Jesse Parrish, Jr. and wife Barbara of Clayton and Bill Parrish and wife Kathy of Cape Carteret; daughter, Patricia “Trish” Holloman and husband Melvin of Smithfield; grandchildren, Tish, and John A. Johnson; and great grandchildren, Olivia, and Layla Johnson.
