Four Oaks – Daniel (Danny) Clayton Atkins, Sr., age 76 passed away Tuesday June 30, 2020 at his home. He was born in Montgomery County on August 9, 1943 to the late B.E and Luna Hamilton Atkins. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by brother, Grady Atkins. A funeral service will be conducted at Olivers Grove Baptist Church in Four Oaks on Friday July 3, 2020 at 11 AM with Rev. David Brantley officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church Thursday July 2, 2020 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Mr. Atkins is survived by wife of 33 years, Brenda Johnson Atkins; Daughters, Angie Pierce and husband Curtis of Newton Grove, Tina Williford and husband Chris of Benson, Son, Anthony Johnson and wife Kristal of Wake forest, daughter, Angela Bailey of Raleigh, son, Daniel Atkins II and wife Alexis of Willmington. ; Brothers, Darrell and Mike Atkins; Grandchildren, Annah Pierce, Sarah Pierce, Blake Williford, Caroline Williford, Savannah King-Wilkes, Charlotte Johnson, Austin Marie Johnson, Clayton Johnson. Mr. Atkins was a self-employed logger for 38 years. He enjoyed horses, farming, his dogs, Palin, Pipper, Brillow, and Rachel.
