Mr. Dennis Jackson Massengill, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at his residence in Delaware. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM-Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks, NC. Burial of cremains will follow in Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church, Cemetery, outside Four Oaks, NC. Pastor Eddie White will officiate.
Mr. Massengill was born on February 20, 1939 in Four Oaks, NC to the late Wilbert and Ruthie Marie Barbour Massengill. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley M. Ellis. Mr. Massengill was a US Army Veteran. He retired from the City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department, was a self-employed licensed electrician, and also served as a former Chief of Police in Four Oaks, NC.
Surviving include his wife, Gail Strickland Massengill, children, Donna Barefoot (Terry), Charlie VanRoekel (Phillip), Rocky Massengill (Angela), step-children, Salena Stokley (Frank), Paula Evans (Chris); six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 10:00AM-10:45AM-Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC.
