Diana Pounds Futch, age 75, of Selma, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Born in Johnston County on April 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Ashley and Mabel Strickland Pounds. Her husband was the late L. D. Futch. Diana served the drive-in window at Holt’s Lake Barbecue in Smithfield for over 30 years. She was a very charitable person who loved all kinds of animals. She was a member of Johnston Community Church.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Wednesday, April 3, from 1-2 pm followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield.
Surviving are her two grandchildren, Shane Strickland and wife Bettymae of Selma, Victoria Murphy and husband Leighton of Pink Hill; step-son Dennis Futch of Selma; and daughter-in-law Donna Strickland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Johnston County Animal Protection League, 110 S. Brightleaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577.
