Dianne Creech Shirley, 77, of Lakeside Drive passed away at her home on August 11, 2017. Dianne was born on March 12, 1940 in Johnston County, daughter of the late Vernon Creech and Agnes Stanley. She retired as a Nursing Administrator, her career in nursing spanning over 50 years. She loved spending time at the beach and spending time with her prize roses. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 14, 2017 at First Baptist Church where she was an active member. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at Underwood Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM on Sunday, August 13.
Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Douglas Shirley; sons, Keenan Shirley and wife Deborah of Garner, Sam Shirley and wife Stephanie of Smithfield; grandchildren, Carson Shirley of Garner, Thomas Shirley of Smithfield; sisters, Jean Howell and Sharon Parrish, both of Smithfield; and her beloved dog “Ginger”.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Joseph Logan Shirley, her brother, Robin Stanley, and her step-father, Roby Stanley.
