SMITHFIELD – Donald Edward “Don” Wallace, age 73, owner and operator of DeWalco Mobile Fab & Welding Inc. of Smithfield, died Saturday evening, February 11, 2017 at his daughter’s home on Rains Crossroads Road. Born February 25, 1943 in Johnston County to the late Wiley Edward and Eunice Dupree Wallace, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Gordon Wallace. Don was a member of the Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church, Fellowship Masonic Lodge #84, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 121 and the Johnston County Shrine Club, where he was very active in the Sudan Animated Animals.
A memorial service, with masonic rites, will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. just prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Coats Wallace; daughters, Amelia Wallace Miller and husband Mark of Murfreesboro, TN and Lori Wallace Johnson and husband Eddie of Selma; granddaughters, Sarah Miller of Murfreesboro, TN and Lauren Johnson and fiancé, Michael Reitmann of Benson; sister-in-law, June Wallace of Smithfield and nephew, Garrett Wallace of Smithfield.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Office of Development, Shriners Hospitals for Children®, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
