Selma- Donnie D. Byrd, age 74, died Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Johnston UNC Health in Smithfield. Born on March 9, 1947 in Johnston County in Selma, he was a son of the late Paul and Pauline Jones Byrd. Donnie was a member of Remnant Worship Center. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Seawell Byrd; brother, Willis Paul Byrd; sisters, Graye Langley, and Grace Woody Mcleod, and grandson, Dalton Reese.
Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, just prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Branch Chapel Church Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia English Byrd of Selma; son, Channing Byrd and wife Kaye of Selma; daughter, Christian Byrd of Selma; step-daughters, Kimberly Danyale Reese of Newland and Crystal Moore and husband Dexter of Cameron; brother, Tom Stanley and wife Lyndall of Savannah GA; sisters, Frances Byrd of Clayton, Jeanette Hanson of South Carolina and Becky Bailey and husband Wilbur of Garner; and grandchildren, Paige Reese, Kendall Moore, Taylor Dabney, Jade Dabney, and DJ Dabney.
