Donnie Ray Hales, age 73, of Covered Bridge Road near Wendell, passed away on November 21, 2017 at Johnston Health. Born in Wilson County on November 30, 1943, he was the son of the late James Patrick and Daphne Mae Wells Hales. Mr. Hales was a US Army veteran.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 24, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1 to 2 PM.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Bass Hales; sons Donnie Ray Hales, Jr. of Benson and David Curtis Hales of Princeton; daughter Gloria Woodall of Four Oaks; daughter-in-law Ginger Lynne Hales of Smithfield; brother Jimmy Hales of South Carolina; sisters Louise Carter of Micro and Pat Renfrow of Middlesex; grandchildren Danny Lassiter and Summer Lynne Zaczek; and great grandchildren Savannah, Sara, Kymberly, Ashley and Daniel.
