Micro – Doris Adell Avera Brown, age 89, died early Monday morning, April 30, 2018 in Autumn Home Care. Born August 29, 1928 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Paul and Anna Langdon Avera. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Noah C. Brown; brothers, James Avera, John Avera, and Vick Avera; and sisters, Lorene Godwin, Pauline Godwin, Lois Narron. Doris was a member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church for over 56 years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. John Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Surviving are her sons, Harold Brown and wife Carolyn of Clayton, Jerry Brown and wife Patsy of Clayton, and Jeff Brown and wife Tara of Wilson; sisters, Mildred Bunn of Smithfield, Peggy Weaver of Selma. and Linda Williams and husband Thomas of Elm City; grandchildren, Angela Yuhas, Amy Malone and husband Brad, April Smith, Deanna Williams and husband John, and Noah Brown; and eleven great grandchildren.
