Selma – Doris Faye Bailey Pittman, 89, of Selma passed away on September 19, 2019 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Doris was born on July 18, 1930 to the late William Herman Bailey and Roland Price Bailey.
She was married sixty-two years to the late Melvin Pittman who died February 2, 2017. She is survived by her son, Wayne and his wife Judy of Newport, NC. Her daughter, Pam of Selma, NC and granddaughters, Lindsey of Clayton, NC and Christen of Seattle, WA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jessie Bailey Dail and brothers, Roy, Herman and Ervin Bailey. Surviving brother, Jimmy lives in Chipley, FL.
Doris and Melvin operated a local restaurant for numerous years and were known for their clam chowder. Doris was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind many beautiful memories.
A celebration of Doris’ life will be held at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will follow the ceremony.
