Smithfield – Doris Champion Cohorn, age 93, died Tuesday morning, September 25, 2018 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born February 15, 1925 in Cleveland County she was the daughter of the late Addie Franklin and Lucille Poston Champion. She was preceded in death by two husbands, William E. Lambert, Jr. & Charles Mason Cohorn; daughter, Kathryn Lambert Crocker; brother, Erwin Champion; and half-brothers, Matthew Champion and Porter Champion.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 in First Christian Church in Smithfield with Rev. Beth Burton-Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday just prior to the service.
Surviving are her son, Tom Lambert and wife Nancy of Youngsville; daughter, Carolyn Jones and husband Jim of Smithfield; grandchildren, Kim Gibbs and husband Kelvin, Doug Jones and wife Allison, Brandon Crocker, Heather Feducia and husband Jeremy; and Cameron Lambert and wife Jennifer; and six great grandchildren.
