    Mrs. Dorothy Harris Nesselrodt passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at her residence. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Thursday, March 10, 2021 at Providence Presbyterian Church, Angier, NC. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. Revs Nadia Stropich and Clyde Wiley will officiate.

    Mrs. Nesselrodt was born on September 5, 1924 in Wake County to the late Lonnie W. and Ruby Morris Harris. She was the oldest of five children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Russell Odell Wood, Sr in 1943, Henry Nelson Franke, Jr. in 1956 and the Reverend Julian David “Buddy” Nesselrodt in 1997; sister, Bevoline H. Brooks, brother, Phillip Allen Harris and granddaughter-in-law, DeEtta J. Wood.

    Dorothy graduated from Cary High School in Cary and Hoyles Secretarial School in Raleigh. She worked for Durham Life Insurance Company in Raleigh and Pacer Manufacturing Corporation in Concord. After retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper for Cedar Bay Farms. She was married to Buddy for 40 years and was truly a helpmate to him in his ministry. She loved music and was involved in the music programs in all of the churches he served.

    Mrs. Nesselrodt received Honorary Life Memberships from the Presbyterian Women of Bluff Presbyterian Church, Wade in 1987 and Providence Presbyterian Church, Angier in 2000. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church and Cary Chapter #366 Order of the Eastern Star.

    She is survived by her son, Russell Odell “Johnny” Wood, Jr., and wife, Elaine; daughter, Elizabeth Nell Franke; grandsons, Jeffery David Wood and Robbie Odell Wood, and wife, Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Justin, Riley, Mary Elaine, Ava, Charlotte and Macie Wood all of the McGee’s Crossroads Community of Johnston County; sisters, Laura Ann H. Dupree of Raleigh, NC and Mary H. Toler of Grantsboro, NC.

    The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM-Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.

    In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. The visitation on Wednesday Night will follow all COVID 19 restrictions allowing a maximum number of people in the visitation room. Mask are required for all services.

    Memorials may be sent to Providence Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
