Dorothy Woodard Keel, 78, passed away at Smithfield Manor in Smithfield on Tuesday evening February 27, 2018. Ms. Keel was born on November 7, 1939 in Johnston County to the late Milton Headon Woodard and Mary Ellen Johnson Woodard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Woodard. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Casey Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 am in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Daniel Woodard officiating.
She is survived by a son, Michael Keel and wife, Terre of Pine Level; daughters, Michelle Moore and husband, Darryl of Pine Knoll Shores, Karen Smith and husband, Mike of Nahunta; sister, Josephine Daughtry of Goldsboro; brother, Charles Woodard of Apex; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy Moore and wife, Lindsey, Clay Moore and wife, Tiffany, Amanda Smith, Kristin Render and husband, Walter, Jonathan Keel and fiancé, Morgan Masters, David Keel and wife, Olivia, Hannah Emery and husband, Bryan, and Jonathan Capps and wife, Rachel and 6 great grandchildren, Beckett, Turner, Kynleigh, Levi, Neal and Owen.
The family would like to thank the staff of Smithfield Manor for their excellent care during Ms. Dorothy’s stay there.
