Clayton: Dr. Henry Harper Goodman age 80, died Thursday at his residence. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church 952 Swift Creek Road, Smithfield, NC 27577. Rev. Billie Lawson, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Hills of The Neuse Memory Gardens, Smithfield, NC.
Dr. Goodman was born August 18, 1936 in Craven County to the late Willie Odell and Mattie Harper Goodman. He was a traveling violinist and taught music in his home studio. Dr. Goodman also taught music education with Johnston County Public Schools and Mt. Olive College. He was a member of Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church.
Surviving include his wife of 58 years, Janell Lassiter Goodman; son and daughter-in-law, Roger M. and Michelle Goodman of Greensboro; grandchildren, Tyler and Austin Goodman; brother, Roger S. Goodman of Dover, NC; several nieces and nephews.
The Family will receive friends 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM Monday prior to funeral service at Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church.
