Clayton – Earl Dean Burns, age 85, died Saturday, June 16, 2018 in WakeMed in Raleigh. Born October 5, 1932 in Hamlin, West Virginia he was a son of the late Muncie and Myrtle Sponaugle Burns. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Todd Burns; brother, Harlan Burns; and sisters, Rose Donnif and Faye Keiser.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Mt. Herman Christian Church, 8925 White Oak Road, Garner, NC with Rev. Jess Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday just prior to the service.
Surviving are his son, Gene Burns and wife Tammy of Chesapeake, OH; daughter, Sharon McAllister and husband mark of Huntington, WV; stepdaughter, Linda Harmon and husband Les of Clayton; brothers, Edsel Burns and wife Sheila of Chesapeake, OH, and Bob Burns and wife Della of West Hamlin, WV; grandchildren, Shawn Burns and wife Mica, Matthew McAllister and wife Stephanie, and Aaron McAllister; great grandchildren, Olivia Abner, Payton McAllister, and Landon McAllister; step grandchildren, Kathy Thompson, Vicki Hall, and Cherie Jackson; six step great grandchildren; and fourteen step great great grandchildren.
