    McGee’s Crossroads, NC: Mr. Earl Ray Honeycutt, Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at his residence. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Johnson Memorial Church, Angier, NC. Officiating will be Revs. Chris Searles, Jonathan Carter, Brandon Teachey and Earl Ray Honeycutt, Jr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
    Mr. Honeycutt was born on September 1, 1934 in Wake County to the late Truby Ray and Repsie Stuart Honeycutt. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Daniel Honeycutt. Mr. Honeycutt was a charter member of the 50-210 Fire Department, where he served as chief and also served in many other capacities. He also served on the board for the 50-210 EMS, the Johnston County Planning Board, Pleasant Grove Community Building Committee, where he served as a Trustee, Pleasant Grove Community Outreach, where he helped organize and served on the board, and also organized and built the pool and tennis courts for the McGee’s Crossroads Recreation Club, INC. He was a founder of the Sportsman’s Wildlife Club. When not volunteering for his community, Mr. Honeycutt was a retired farmer, a US Army Veteran, and a member of Johnson Memorial Church.
    Surviving include his wife of 63 years, Alice Jean House Honeycutt; children, Crystal “Chris” Honeycutt Stinnett and husband, Steve; and Earl Ray Honeycutt, Jr., and wife, Patty; grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Stinnett and wife, Sotiria; Rachel Lynn Honeycutt Carter and husband, Jonathan; and Aaron Ray Honeycutt and fiancée, Taylor Newborn; great-grandchildren, Naia Macpherson, Callista Macpherson, Benjamin Carter and Elizabeth Carter; sisters, Dorothy Honeycutt Denning; Donna Honeycutt Howard; and JoAnne Honeycutt Collier; brother, Chester Bryant Honeycutt; many special and loving nieces and nephews.
    The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM-8:00 PM, Monday, December 16, 2019 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
    Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to 50-210 Fire Department, 50 Greenleaf Road, Angier, NC 27501.
