Edith Grey Jones Woodard, age 83, of Princeton, passed away on January 2, 2018 at Wake Medical Center. Born in Johnston County on January 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Needham B. and Ellen Davis Jones. Her husband was the late James B. “Jake” Woodard. Mrs. Woodard was Head of Operations at BB&T in Princeton for 18 years and later worked alongside her husband at Woodard Furniture and Appliances. She was a member of New Beginnings Presbyterian Church in Pine Level where she sang in the choir.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with burial following in the Princeton Cemetery. Rev. Percy Coleman will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10-11 AM.
Surviving are her son, James Larry Woodard of Princeton; daughters Diane Moye and husband Ben of Pine Level, Sue Vann of Carolina Beach, Joy Moore of Princeton; grandchildren, Sunnie Batson and husband Tommy, Saylor Vann, Josh Woodard and wife Heather, Nikki Damron and husband Nick, Jade Woodard, Andrea Moore, Brooks Moore and wife Katie, Chris Wilkins and wife Amanda, Amy Evans and husband Robbie; and twelve great grandchildren.
