Edna Thompson Sanders, 91, of Selma, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by her family.
Edna was born in Johnston County on December 17, 1929 to the late Tommy Capps and Bethany Bass Capps. In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Vernon Sanders and son, Willie Harold Thompson.
In Edna’s spare time, she enjoyed her flowers and gardening. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Janette K. Thompson of Selma, and son, Arlon Glenn Thompson of Smithfield.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations. A funeral will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home and Cremations. Burial will take place in the Thompson Family Cemetery.
