Edwin Franklin “Frankie” Byrd, age 74, of Selma passed away on August 4, 2017 at his home. Frankie was born in Johnston County on October 10, 1942 and was a longtime employee of the Town of Selma. He was a member of the Church of Faith and had a lifelong love of flying aircraft and trains.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 9, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with burial following in Greenwood Cemetery in Selma. There will be a visitation for family and friends Wednesday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home.
Mr. Byrd is survived by his canine companion Sadie; his “lady-friend” DeDee Bailey and a host of extended family and friends.
