Micro – Nancy Elaine Batten Evans, age 73, died early Thursday morning, April 12, 2018 in Selma. Born March 24, 1945 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Paul and Doris Cooper Batten. She was preceded in death by her sister. Delores Batten Sutton. Elaine was a member of Pleasant Plain Free Will Baptist Church. She was a retired Teacher Assistant for over 27 years with Johnston County Public Schools.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Holland Cemetery in Selma. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Wayne Evans; son, Gary Wayne Evans and wife Dawn, all of Micro; daughter, Lori Evans Collier of Princeton and special friend Jackie Matthews of Clayton; brother, Andy Batten and wife Peggy Jo of Kenly; sisters, Doris Ann Medlin and husband Larry of Kenly and Paulette Pittman and husband Ralph of Rosewood; and grandchildren, Justin Collier, Miranda Evans, and Allyson Evans. She also leaves behind lots of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
