Benson, NC: Mrs. Elaine Howe Morse, age 87, of King Mill Rd., Four Oaks died Tuesday at her residence. Funeral Service will be 3:00PM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Dr. David J. Hailey and Dr. Zane Lapinske. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC.
Mrs. Howe was born June 18, 1930 in Tioga County, PA to the late Leon R. and Fannie Gilbert Howe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Philip L. Morse; sisters, Bettie DuVall and LaVera Hoose; brothers, Robert Howe and Arnold Howe. Mrs. Morse was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC.
Surviving include; daughters and son-in-law, Cynthia Leigh Morse and Dena M. Ray both of Benson, Virginia M. and David Earl Penny and Becky M. Curry all of Four Oaks; son, James Redder of Fremont, CA; step-sons, Gary L. Barteau and Michael E. Barteau both of Rio Rancho, NM and Rick Barteau of Florida; sister, Phyllis Barrett of Montour Falls, NY; brother, Eugene Bergh of Livermore, CA; adopted son, Arthur Beasley of Benson; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 1:30PM – 2:30PM Thursday prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Dena M. Ray, 323G Aquila Road, Benson, NC 27504.
