Selma – Ellis Lee King Sr., passed away Friday April 9, 2021 at his home in Selma. He was born in Wake County on July 28, 1941 to the late Robert Miles King and Novie Pearce King. In addition to his parents Mr. King is also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters; sister-in-law, Rachel Sutton.
A funeral service will be held at Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist Church at 2 PM Monday April 12, 2021 with Rev. Eric Narron officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 1 PM to 2 PM. Burial will follow at Branch Chapel Church Cemetery.
Mr. King is survived by wife of 53 years, Linda Hall King; sons, Lee King Jr., and wife Tracy of Selma, Tracey King and wife Melissia of Selma; sisters, Della Farmer of Sanford, Evelynn Wynne of Zebulon; grandchildren, Dustin King of Princeton, Brittany King of Greenville, Jackson King of Selma; mother- in- law, Hazel Hall; brother-in-law, Billy Hall; special caregiver, Raelynn Quick. Mr. King was a member at Branch Chapel Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Mr. King coached various football and baseball teams for nearly 30 years.
