SMITHFIELD – Eloise Revels, age 85, died Friday evening in the Smithfield Manor Nursing Home in Smithfield. Born April 29, 1932 in Cumberland County to the late Jessie Brodus and Susie Locklear Revels, she was preceded in death by seven sisters, Betty Sue, Wanda Faye, Vera, Margaret, Martha, Sadie Ray and a stillborn girl and one brother, Jessie (Junior). Eloise was a member of the Pentecostals of Smithfield and worked in the laundry department of Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday just prior to the service.
Surviving are her children, Debra Kay Radford and companion Alan of Kenly, Ilene Melvin and husband Jimmy of Grasonville, MD, Wayne Cummings and wife Brenda of Fayetteville, Leroy Cummings and wife Phyllis of Parkton, Ronald Cummings of Linden and Donald Cummings and wife Tammy of Smithfield; brothers, Robert Revels of Maryland and Bill Revels of South Carolina; sister, Mabel Bowling of Maryland; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
