Emma Horton Craig Aeppli, age 94, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in the SECU Hospice House. Born March 22, 1927, in Wake County to the late Henry Clay and Sally Clyde Wilkins Horton, she was preceded in death by two husbands, John Sullivan Craig and Thomas Aeppli; brothers, Robert Horton and Jeffrey Horton; sister, Kiva H. Bunn and a grandson, Justin Stewart.
Emma believed in God, Country and family and had a great zest for life. She raised her children in Alaska, but loved traveling in Europe, especially her time in Switzerland. She loved being the Executive Secretary to the Commander of U.S. Army National Guard, helping Meals on Wheels and belonging to the XYZ Club in Cary. She will be sorely missed by family and dear friends.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private life celebration will be held at a later date.
Surviving are her son, John Michael Craig and wife Jeanne; daughter, Debbie Lynn Stewart; grandsons, Ben Craig and wife Jen and Sean Stewart and wife Tara and great-granddaughter, Hunter Lee Stewart.
