Emma Jean Ballance Wellons, 85, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Smithfield Manor in Smithfield. She was born August 16, 1933 to the late Raymond Clarence Ballance and Lennie Mae Ferrell Ballance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Conrad Wellons and a son-in-law, Howard Kornegay. The funeral will be held in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 7:00 pm with Reverend Dennis Pollock and Reverend Matthew Cornett officiating. The committal service will be on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
She is survived by daughters, Debbie Marshburn and husband, Doug of Princeton, Judy Kornegay of Selma, Penny Blackwell and husband, Mike of Princeton; brother, Felton Ballance of Lucama; sister, Vickie Ellis of Lucama; extended family, Gerald and Betty Wellons;8 grandchildren, Nicole, Pam, Crystal, Jamie, Terry, Brandon, Matthew and Savannah; and 18 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Casey Funeral Home Chapel.
