Smithfield – Esther Leah Muth Turner, age 100, died Tuesday evening, June 23, 2020 in Smithfield Manor. Born January 23, 1920 in Montreal, Canada she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sophie Adleman Muth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Turner; son, Charles Turner; son-in-law, Tim Strickland; and sisters, Harriet St. Jeanos and Georgette Pinksy.
She was a proud woman who said she would like to be 100 and by golly she did that plus 6 months. She accomplished so much in life and God gave her many gifts. She played piano beautifully. She was a great artist and could easily become a fashion designer. She was once considered the fastest typist in Charlotte when she worked at Charlotte Letter Writing in the 60’s. She loved to travel. Esther was loved and will be missed by many.
Surviving are her daughter, Linda Strickland of Pine Level; grandchildren, Cherie Grice and Charlot Bennett; great grandchildren, Connor Norris, Brett Bennett, Sophia Bennett, and Chyler Grice; and step great grandchildren, Hunter Grice and Jesse Grice.
