Smithfield – Eugene Brown, age 82, passed away Sunday morning, March 18, 2018, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Mr. Brown was born August 12, 1935 in Harnett County to the late Elisha Bradley and Irene Stewart Brown, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Hill Brown. Mr. Brown worked as a Sergeant for the NC Department of Corrections for many years before retiring in 1990.
A memorial service, with military honors, will be conducted on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home at 7 pm, with Reverend David Sutphin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Surviving are his son, Kenneth Brown and wife, Jill of Mount Olive; daughters, Brenda Pittman and husband, Merrell of Kenly and Iris Anne Aycock and significant other Bobby Radford of Princeton; sister, Faye Stanley of Micro, as well as ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
