Eula Pearl O’Neal

    Eula Pearl O’Neal, age 92, of Wendell, N.C., passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020, after a period of declining health. Born in Johnston County, N.C. to the late Eugene F. O’Neal and Robelia Pearl Whitley O’Neal.

    Pearl is survived by her son, Jimmy Boykin and wife Sue of Wendell; granddaughters, Jennifer Boykin of Raleigh, N.C. and Barbie and husband Stephen Alligood of Jacksonville, N.C.; great granddaughter, Kairi Alligood; brother, Lynwood O’Neal of Wendell, N.C.; sisters, Claudia Imogene Wilson and Carolyn O. Gower, both of Smithfield, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
    Pearl completed school at Corinth Holders and went on to graduate with a degree from Hardbarger Business College in Raleigh. Pearl worked for Associated Insurers in Raleigh for three years, Critcher Insurance Agency in Raleigh for seven years, and Yancey Insurance Agency in Raleigh for twenty years.

    Pearl was a dedicated member of Central Baptist Church in Wendell. She was an avid crafter, blessing many with her gifts of crocheting and knitting. It was one of her greatest joys to create something beautiful to give away. She had a great love for her family and for others, and was cherished by many.

    Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Boykin of Wendell; daughter, Sandra Pearl Boykin Smith of Edgewater, FL; sisters, Mary Creech Andrews of Rose Hill, Shirley Crockett of Angier, and Linda Lou O’Neal of Selma; and brothers, Charles O’Neal of Beaufort, Bobby O’Neal and Billy Wayne O’Neal of Wendell.

    A private graveside service will be conducted on Monday, June 8, 2020 with Burial in Sunset Memorial Park in Smithfield.
