Smithfield – Eva Creech Edwards Garner, age 96, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in Smithfield Manor in Smithfield. Born May 22, 1920 in Johnston County she was the daughter of the late Troy Creech and Maggie Batten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edwards; son, Donnie Edwards; son-in-law, Gene Hinton; and great granddaughter, Crystal Woodard. Eva was a member of Micro First Baptist Church in Micro.
Service times are now visitation at Parrish Funeral Home from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 11, 2017 and Graveside following at 2:00pm at Selma Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are her son, Frankie Edwards and wife Gray of Swansboro; daughters, Nancy Hinton of Micro, Anne Petit and husband Larry of Clayton, LaRue Hull and husband Don of Micro; grandchildren, Teresa Daughtry and husband Otis, Sherri Gillikin and husband Steve, Steve Hinton and fiancée Luann Lamb, Larry Edwards and wife Sherry, Angie Watkins and husband Greg, Junior Renfrow and wife Sasha, Tracy Holden and husband David, Keith Edwards and wife Lisa, and Summer Tesh and husband Michael; twenty great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren.
