Benson, NC: Ms. Evelyn Johnson Holland, age 76, of Bethel Church Road, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2021 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Willow Spring, NC. Rev. Horace Johnson will officiate.
Ms. Holland was born on March 6, 1945 in Johnston County to the late Albert Tony and Lila Ruth Barbour Johnson. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Albert Tony Johnson, Jr., Jarvis Larkin Johnson, Sr. and Sarah Hunt Jones. Ms. Holland retired as an account clerk and also worked as a home healthcare provider. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving include her sons, Gregory Durwood Barbour of Raleigh and Jason Earnest Holland and wife, Hannah of Clayton; two grandchildren; brother, Rev. Horace W. Johnson and wife, Janet of Benson; sisters-in-law, Delene Johnson of Dunn and Arbodella Johnson of Garner; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service and other times at the home of Rev. Horace and Janet Johnson, 108 Carolyn Drive, Benson, NC 27504.
In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Masks are required for all services.
