Smithfield – Alice Faye Phelps Tyner, age 79, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Born September 28, 1937 in Brunswick County she was a daughter of the late Homer and Glenn Robinson Phelps. Faye was preceded in death by brother, Laverne Phelps; and sister, Loretta Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday just prior to the service. Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Tyner Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph Tyner of the home; daughter, Stephanie Casey and husband Tim of Smithfield; sister, Mae Creech of Smithfield; grandchildren, Sterling Casey and Natalie Casey; and nephew, Gene Miller of Pink Hill.
