Smithfield – Florine Hill Creech, age 84, died Thursday, July 27, 2017 in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Born October 8, 1932 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Jasper and Lucy Langdon Hill. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Willard Hill, Willis J. Hill, and Winfred Leo Hill; and sisters, Elouise Hill Barbour, Florence Moore, Annie Barbour, and Blanche Jones. Florine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished her family with all she had and everyone felt it. She was the most selfless, genuine and caring woman. She cared for and loved her husband for 68 years. Her heart was full of love. She also was always ready to shop – she loved shopping.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Higginson officiating. Burial will follow in Barbour’s Chapel Church Cemetery in Four Oaks. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Robert Kenton Creech; son, Leo Creech and wife Elaine of Pine Level; daughters, Bonnie Murray and husband Melvin of Bailey, Debbie Gerrell of Selma, and Teresa McGee and husband Chuck of Smithfield; sister, Myrtle Hill Barbour of High Point and Vida Massengill of Florida; thirteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchildren on the way.
