On Thursday afternoon, June 10, 2021, God looked down from above and touched our dearly beloved Fossie. God saw that she was getting tired, so He gently closed her loving eyes and whispered “Peace Be Thine”
Flossie Mae Williams Avery was born on October 10, 1918, in Johnston County to the late Grant and Julia Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Avery, a daughter Julia Mae Dublin Mills. She was the last living of her siblings.
Flossie attended Johnston County Training School. She joined First Missionary Baptist Church and with over eighty years of service, where she was very faithful. Flossie was a dedicated member until her health declined.
Flossie was employed by Brightleaf & Burley Tobacco Company for over 40 years from where she retired.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, one daughter, Beulah Dublin Howell of Winston-Salem, NC, two sons, Nathan “Troy” Dublin (friend Beverly) of Smithfield, NC, and Nathaniel “Roy” Dublin (Gloria) of Clayton, NC; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved with all of her heart, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Two very special friends, Betty Agnes Sanders, and Irene Stevens both of Smithfield, NC
