Princeton – Freddie Braxton Woodard, Sr., age 74, died Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Johnston UNC Health in Smithfield. Born January 27, 1943, he was a son of the late David and Mozelle Edwards Woodard. Freddie was a long time member of Rains Crossroads FWB Church and the Cardinal Country Club. He retired from the Johnston County Sheriff’s Department. Freddie was an avid golfer, UNC fan, and loved his family and church. Freddie will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Rains Crossroads FWB Church with Rev. Johnny Sullivan officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday just prior to the service. Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Woodard of the home; children, Mary Mitchell and husband Mike of Kenly, Ruth Polanco of Texas, Freddie Woodard, Jr. and wife Rebecca of Raleigh, Amy Capps and husband Heath of Princeton, and Scott Woodard and wife Brittnie of Princeton; brothers, Melvin Woodard, Keith Woodard, and his twin, Eddie Woodard; grandchildren, John Turner, Trish Scott, LeAnn Cahall and husband Robert, April Polanco, Noah Capps, and Abby Capps, Hannah Woodard, and Ethan Woodard; and great grandchildren, Jada, John, Jeremiah, Mya, and Mia.
