Smithfield – Geraldine Medlin Jernigan, age 65, died early Wednesday morning in UNC Johnston Health. She was born February 17, 1953 in Johnston County to the late Preston and Ora Gladys Bean Medlin. Geraldine was an active member of the Wilson’s Mills Church of God, where she was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Hunt and the Rev. Andy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Smithfield. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service.
Surviving are her husband, Sam Jernigan; sister, Shirley Johnson and husband Raeford of Four Oaks and three brothers, Preston Medlin, Jr. and wife Vicki Dianne of Clayton, Larry Medlin and wife Doris Ann of Shoeheel and Donald Medlin and wife Joann of Kenly.
