Glendlyn Sherrill Sanders, 73, of Smithfield, North Carolina died Monday, April 5, 2021 at her home.
Glendlyn or “Glen” as she was fondly known was the only daughter of the late Donnell Sanders Jr and Ora Mae Sanders. Glendlyn graduated with the class of 1966 from Johnston Central High School, Smithfield, NC. After graduating from high school she moved to Brooklyn, New York to further her education and became a preschool teacher for 38 years.
Ms. Sanders was a lifelong member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Smithfield, North Carolina. After her retirement, she renewed her membership with her family church and became an active member of the beautification committee.
In addition to her parents, Glendlyn was preceded in death by her three brothers Granger, Charles, and Edward Sanders. She leaves to mourn her loss two Aunts, Dorthea Davis Sanders of Elkton, Va and Leola Robinson Sanders of home. Two special friends Felicia Smith and Rosa Ann Williams of Smithfield NC and a host of relatives and friends.
