Smithfield, NC: Mr. Harold Lyle Stevens, Sr., age 90, died Sunday at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 6:00PM Wednesday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel Four Oaks. Graveside service will be 11:00AM Thursday at Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens, Smithfield. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Copeland.
Mr. Stevens was born in Johnston County on September 17, 1926 to the late Leon Gladstone Stevens and Ethel Gordon Sefton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mallie Ellis Stevens; brothers, Leon G. Stevens, Jr., Gordon Sefton Stevens, William Stevens, and Austin Stevens; sisters, Marcia Wiggs, Ethel Williams. Mr. Stevens retired from the U. S. Postal Service and was a member of Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church.
Surviving include sons and spouse, Harold Lyle Stevens, Jr. of Smithfield, Leon Sanders Stevens and wife, Samantha of Angier; grandchildren, Jessica Lee Stevens, Harold Lyle Stevens, III, Haley Dawn Stevens, Katie Margaret Stevens, Cody Storm Stevens, Hannah Skye Stevens, Auston Cale Sanders Stevens; brother, Thomas B. Stevens of McCormick, SC; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Wednesday night and other times at 407 South 3rd Street Smithfield, NC 27577.
