Smithfield –Helen Gray Peedin Baker, age 84, died Sunday, December 17, 2017 in Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born January 20, 1933 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Peedin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raeford Earl Baker; son, David Bryant Baker; and all her brothers and sisters. Helen was a member of Harvest Fellowship Church in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Dr. Pete Norris officiating. Burial will follow in Baker’s Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday just prior to the service.
Surviving are her son, Gilbert Earl Baker and wife Heather of Goldsboro, NC; daughters, Cathy Hare and husband Jim of Smithfield, NC, Mary Reconnu and husband Rob of Seattle, WA, and Wylia Wallace of Smithfield, NC; grandchildren, Emily Shivers, Christina Luper, Jennifer Weaver, Faith Baker, David Baker, Daniel Ray Carroll, Leslie Tharrington, Whitney Brown, Katy Brown, Haley Reconnu, Max Reconnu, Erica Culbreth, and Willie B. Wallace; seventeen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
