SELMA – Hilda Pace Creech, died Friday afternoon, February 22, 2019 one day after her 88th birthday. Born February 21, 1931 in Micro, NC, she was a daughter of the late Mack Elijah and Ruby Ella Starling Pace and was preceded in death by her husband, William Narvin Creech and all four brothers and both of her sisters. She was retired from Penny’s Department Store, where she worked as a seamstress for more than 30 years. Hilda was a member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are her son, Johnnie E. Creech of Selma; daughters, Patricia Grey Cordova of Selma and Pamela Kay Gaddis and husband Leon of Franklin, TN; four grandchildren, William Michael Swann, Rebecca Leigh Gillespie, Shane Lee Gaddis and September Dawn Ogan; two great granddaughters, Brittany Elizabeth Nichols and McKenna Joy Swann and one great great grandson, Westen Reid Nichols.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the Unity Free Will Baptist Church, 104 West Langdon Avenue, Smithfield, NC 27577.
