Mr. Hoover Young Hargis, age 88, of 2700 Stephenson Road passed away
Sunday at his residence. Funeral Service will be at 11:00AM Tuesday at Rose and Graham Funeral
Chapel in Four Oaks. Burial will follow in the Keene Family Cemetery in Four Oaks
with Military Honors. Rev. Jason Hudson will officiate.
Mr. Hargis was born November 11, 1928 in Johnston County to the late Robert and Lena Pollard Hargis. He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Young Hargis; sister, Beatrice Langdon; brothers, Sherrill Hargis and James “Bud” Hargis. Mr. Hargis was a United States Marine and retired from GoodMark Foods. He was a faithful member of Unity Advent Christian Church, Four Oaks.
Surviving are wife of years 61 years, Ann Keene Hargis; sons and daughter-in-law, Brian and Karen Benson Hargis and Tracy Hargis; granddaughter Heather Hargis; great granddaughter, Hanna Hargis all of McGee’s Crossroads; brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Ellen Hargis of McGee’s Crossroads; half sisters, Betty Jane Braley of Garner and Julie Wood of Smithfield.
The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-10:45AM prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be sent to Unity Advent Christian Church, 304 Unity Church Road, Four Oaks NC 27524.
