Clayton – Horace Roscoe Cox, born in Grantham, NC to the late Roscoe Lavigia and Maude Strickland Cox passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the age of 90.
He is survived by his wife, Hearley Gregory Cox; daughter, Martha Cox of Truro, Nova Scotia; sons, Bill Cox (Eka) of Atlanta, GA, Greg Cox (Marianna) of Roanoke, VA and Roy Cox (Bert) of Conover, NC; grandchildren, Emily, Abigail, Henry, Nicholas, and Andrew; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Hope, Hettie Whitaker, and Evy Strong; brothers, Ralph Cox and Paul Cox; a granddaughter Kathryn Cox.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 11:00am in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service from 10 until 11:00am. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
