Smithfield – Howard Ivey Jackson, age 83, died Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Barbour Court of Smithfield. Born July 27, 1934 in Johnston County to the late Allen Lofton and Louester Blackmon Jackson, he was the widower of Lola Capps Jackson and was preceded in death by brothers, Norman Jackson and Earl Jackson and a sister, Mary Boyette. Howard was a retired textile service technician after more than 40 years of service. He was a longtime member of Princeton Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 just prior to the service.
Surviving are his step-daughters, Gloria B. Parker and husband Tom of Rocky Mount and Linda Evans and husband Addie of Rosewood; step-sons, Johnny Barbour and wife Lorena of Selma and William Thomas Barbour of Charlotte; brother, Thomas “Tom” Jackson and wife Glenda of Benson; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
