Isaac S. Lassiter was born on July 4, 1941 in Clayton, NC to David and Mabel (née Byrd) Lassiter. He died Friday, January 12, 2018 in Barrington, IL.
Mr. Lassiter worked as a Staff Assistant for Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes Division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (BMWED) (formerly the Brotherhood of Maintenance Way Employes) in Chicago. He loved to write poetry and stories, grow plants, cook, care for animals, and attend church. He enjoyed literature and music in many forms. Isaac loved to spend time with his family, especially his granddaughter, and was loved by all.
Isaac is survived by his wife of 46 years Elsie (née Bugg): daughters, Laura (Daniel) Carroll and Dana Lassiter; granddaughter, Calliope Carroll; siblings, Janell Goodman, Brian “Kay” Lassiter and Annette (Randall) Alcock, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sue Crocker; and brother-in-law, Henry Goodman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018 in the Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church with the Rev. Billie Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.
