Selma – Isabella Wood Brown age 92, passed away Saturday March 14, 2020 at her home in Selma. She was born in Johnston County November 10, 1927 to the late John Cullen and Alice Cook Wood. In addition to her parents Mrs. Brown is also preceded in death by husband of 42 years Lee Olen Brown Sr.; infant brother Wood; Sisters, Virgie Sparks, Esther Williams, Maggie Gilbert, Rosalie William, Doris Coleman. A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home Tuesday March 17, 2020 at 4 PM with burial to follow at Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Brown is survived by son, Lee Olen Brown Jr.; Daughter’s, Sue B. Cobb, Jo Ann McNeil, of Selma; five grandchildren; Eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was a member at Crumplers Crossroad Church of God of Prophecy in Selma for 60 years. She served as a Sunday school teacher, choir director, and youth leader during her active years. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills in Smithfield after 29 years of service. Mrs. Brown loved to cook for her family and others as well as quilting and sewing.
