Clayton – Jackie Aaron Daughtry, age 72, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in Winston-Salem. Born March 29, 1945 in Johnston County to the late Willie Joseph and Winnifred Catheline Sanders Daughtry, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Rose Daughtry on September 6, 2011. Jackie was a member of Pleasant Plain Free Will Baptist Church in Selma. Following his retirement Jackie enjoyed transporting cars for Deacon Jones, Matthews Motors, Classic Ford and 40-42 Motors.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Nowell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service. The burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Sunday in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.
Surviving are his daughters, Cathy Daughtry Futch and husband Johnny of Clayton and Cindy Daughtry Stephenson and husband Wayne of Smithfield; brothers, Wade Daughtry and wife Lois of Four Oaks, James Daughtry and wife Carol of Selma and Otis Daughtry and wife Teresa of Smithfield; three grandchildren, Jay Johnson of Smithfield, Zachary Futch of Clayton and his fiancée Lauren Hales of Goldsboro and Blake Stephenson of Smithfield and a step-granddaughter, Misty Stewart of Erwin.
