Smithfield – James Arthur Bennett, age 70, passed away December 20, 2019 at his home in Smithfield. Born October 16, 1949 in Scioto County, Ohio to James and Janet Evans Bennett. Mr. Bennett is survived his mother, Janet Bennett of Wheelerburg, OH by wife of 37 years, Noriko Bennett of the home; Daughter, Brooke Bennett of Durham; Step son, James Landers and wife Libby of Sims; Brothers, Roy and Brian Bennett; Sisters, Carol Baker, Diane Boyer; Grandchildren, Mackenzie, Abigail, and Isabelle Landers. Mr. Bennett was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, being involved with the Young Marines Foundation, and playing golf.
