Lucama: James Barbee, Jr., 70, passed away early Wednesday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family.
James was born in Johnston County on March 15, 1947 to Audrey Pate Perry and the late James Barbee, Sr.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Kenly Funeral Service. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. by the graveside at the Kenly Cemetery with Rev. Billy Nowell officiating.
In addition to his mother, James is survived by his loving wife of forty two years, Brenda Kay Turner Barbee; daughters, Tammy Keen and husband Chadwick of Lucama and Sandra Joyner and husband Brandon of Pine Level; son, James Robert Barbee and wife Amy of Lucama; brother, Jeff Barbee; sisters, Shelby Langston, Frances Finch, Kathy Nichols, and Virginia Barnes; fourteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two special grandchildren, Olivia Schilling and Macy Barbee. James is also survived by five other children.
The Barbee family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Lerro and the staff of Regional Medical Oncology Center as well as the nurses of Community Hospice and staff of Walgreens for all the care and compassion shown to them during James’s sickness.
